Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better user experience, and give site owners useful information. Local storage and session storage are similar browser technologies used to store data locally on your device.

2. Cookies We Use

VeilCast uses a minimal set of cookies and local storage, exclusively for essential functionality. We do not use cookies for advertising, tracking, or analytics purposes.

3. Essential vs Non-Essential Cookies

All cookies and local storage used by VeilCast are strictly essential for the Service to function. We do not use any non-essential cookies. Specifically, we do not use:

  • Advertising or marketing cookies
  • Third-party analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Social media tracking pixels
  • Cross-site tracking cookies

4. Third-Party Cookies

VeilCast itself does not set third-party cookies. However, our authentication provider (Supabase) may set cookies necessary for secure authentication. These cookies are scoped to our application domain and are used solely for maintaining your authenticated session.

If you use third-party payment services linked from our website, the payment provider may set its own cookies on their domain. Please review their respective privacy policies.

5. How to Manage Cookies

You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View which cookies are stored and delete them individually
  • Block all cookies or only third-party cookies
  • Set preferences for specific websites
  • Clear all cookies when you close your browser

Important: If you block or delete the authentication cookie, you will be logged out and need to sign in again. Blocking the locale cookie will reset your language preference on each visit.

Browser-Specific Instructions

6. Local Storage & Session Storage

In addition to cookies, VeilCast uses browser local storage to persist non-sensitive application state (onboarding progress, UI preferences). Local storage data does not expire automatically but can be cleared through your browser's developer tools or settings under "Site Data" or "Storage."

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if we introduce new cookies or change how we use existing ones. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
